Born 9 August 1968, at Royal Victoria Hospital, Falls Road , Belfast.
Schooled at Park Lodge, Christian Brothers, followed by attendance at St Malachy's College before joining the Royal Marines in 1986.
His 'Adventure' as a Royal Marine would see him deploy globally to numerous operational environments over 29 years before making the decision of becoming an Actor.
Now at the end of his second year studying BA(Hons) Acting with The Actor's Wheel Company, at Plymouth Marjon University.
His first performance was in a Theatre Royal, Plymouth production, 'Boots at the Door' playing the role of 'Donny', 3-5 Dec 15 (Phots, courtesy of Fiona Walsh, and review at Gallery) He then appeared in a further TR, Plymouth ensemble, '18', at TR2 between 6-9 April 16; a dynamic 'promenade' play working with an energetic and vibrant group of young actors which received critical acclaim for its spirit and originality. Last summer (17) he appeared in 'Blindsighted: a response to Oedipus', playing an elder and blinded Oedipus for the duration of this conceptual adaptation of the Oedipus plays by Sophocles and Senecas. In November he performed in Gary Kitching's 'Unspoken', a Bravo 22/Theatre Royal Production, performed at Theatre Royal Newcastle on Remembrance Sunday.
Performing regularly with The Actor's Wheel, he will be touring and performing in an adaptation of Kafka’s ‘The Trial’ on the following dates in 2018: 31st May – Cygnet Theatre, Exeter. 1st Jun – Jackson’s Lane, London. 7th Jun – Z-arts, Manchester. 8th Jun – The Rondo Theatre, Bath. 9th Jun – Barbican Theatre, Plymouth. On completion of this he will rejoin Bravo 22 and 'Unspoken' for a National Tour starting at the the Edinburgh Festival 21 Aug 2018.
Tip has also been acting for camera, being directed by several innovative new local directors. As part of his education he has gained experience as a supporting actor in the following major movies: Kingsman 2: The Golden Circle ( in a specialist role, directed by Matthew Vaughn, 2017), Ready Player One (as a 101 Superviser, directed by Steven Spielberg, the Sky series Guerrilla directed by John Ridley. Mary Queen of Scots, directed by Josie Rourke due for release Sep 18.
In his spare time he pursues numerous adventurous passions including sailing, climbing, kayaking, skiing...anything outdoors...that gives him a buzz!! Also family time... because that is what life is about!!
